PUBLICATIONS
The type of publications will range from anthologies, comic books, graphic novels, children's books, illustrated novels and coffee table picture books. The genres will focus mostly on sci-fi, horror and dark adult themes with occasional dipping of the toes in the light-hearted aspirational arena of children's illustrated books. The finished products will be made available for purchase as digital downloads and in the future in limited hard copy formats.
Among some of the publications will be an editorial cartoon magazine that would be the result if MAD, CRACKED and South Park got together and had a baby. My Short stories will be sci-fi and horror based but will take inspiration from both real world events, topics and personal experiences all with themes of "restoring" society and/or ones self to a sane and logical place while correcting the wrongs committed by themselves or others.
The illustrated stories both the novels and children's books will along the lines of "tales of morality" done in the spirit of the Brothers Grimm as a way to scare morality back into children. Additionally there are the darker stories aimed at younger adults and teens that deal with the psychology and biology of the mind exploring subjects as addiction as well as mental states and disorders.
My art will be presented as collections and constructed around a theme similar to how art galleries present their shows. The themes will range from editorial, political, social commentary, satire, parody, and absurdity. Some will be executed with very dark themes and others will outright humor leaving some room in the middle for some hybrid stuff. Some collections may require registering on the site to prevent minors from viewing questionable content. Prints will be made available for purchase both as open editions and limited runs.
There will be collections of public figures being editorialized and made into gross absurd parodies of themselves like the old Garbage Pail Kids. Another collection will consist of comic book characters that cannot seem to find a place in any comic book story so they are technically out of work and homeless. Other collections will be more introspective and inspired by personal anecdotal moments of my personal life experiences as well as my own observations of things over the years. Strangely, they were ahead of their time years ago and now are more relevant.
That is just to get things started.
There will also be an archive section of my past works. These will include my figure drawings from my college years. my drawings from when I was a young kid, my concept art I created as a freelancer over the years, and doodles and sketches.
As for the music, the albums are a representation of his ability to compose film scores. While I have been unable to obtain professional work as a principal composer on movies, shows and games, I decided to compose albums that are in and of themselves, soundtracks. Though they are not attached to any real film, show or game, I do create them as though I had been hired to score a film. I write the stories to which some of the albums are composed to while other albums involve me re-scoring a whole movie as though I had been hired to compose the original score. This might be a sacrilege to many but I don't care because in some cases, what I did was far superior than what the "professional" did.
There will be physical art prints, physical and digital publications, digital music downloads, physical music CDs, apparel, hats, magnets, stickers, coffee mugs, and whatever else people start asking for me to offer. There will also be all the other usual other merch crap like ball caps, coffee mugs, magnets, stickers, etc.
All art prints, physical CDs and publications will not be autographed after it is printed. Instead, I will have my “D4D’ shorthand signature hidden within the art itself and it will show up in the printed item. If I ever make it to a convention, I will inform the public and those who want to get their items autographed, then I will do so at that time. The logistics and expense of getting the physical items produced, shipped to my studio to autograph, and then ship out individually takes time away from my creating more content. I am a force of one and have my limitations.
When there is a sale it will be store wide on everything. Discounts and free stuff are only available to those who subscribe to my ongoing online publication series (anthologies as an example), my current and future online art shows and my “journey to becoming a composer” series of video & audio podcasts. Depending on how much money you are willing to fork over early on will determine how much free stuff will get in return.
While you may have grown up in a world where content has been available for free, those creators could do because they have sponsors paying them an income. Without those sponsors, they would be locking their shit down behind paywalls in a heartbeat. I do not have sponsors funding me. My earnings come from the public purchasing my stuff. I must work extra hard and smart at convincing you to spend money on stuff you don’t really need to survive with money you don’t have and could spend on something more meaningful.
Much of my content will be locked behind a subscription model as I want to control and track who is viewing my content to help better understand my audience’s desires. Don’t worry, I will not cyberstalk you, there are plenty of offshore people to that on their own time. No, I will have 3 tiers available which I feel is still me giving too much away for no real return on investment.
